1. Read the evaluator first. Before reading answers, scan the examiner’s margin comments and the marks table — e.g. in Shruti Sharma’s ethics test the evaluator flags “substantiate with case studies” and “give every question equal attention”. That tells you what actually moves marks.
2. Decode the structure, not the content. Toppers consistently open with a definition, data point or quote; split the body under bold sub-headings; and close with a constructive way forward. Facts change every year — the skeleton doesn’t.
3. Steal the visual tricks. Flow arrows, two-column law-vs-ethics tables, India maps and quick diagrams appear in nearly every high-scoring copy. They buy marks per minute faster than prose.
