Where can I get MPSC previous year question papers with answers?

All 6 MPSC prelims Paper-I papers from 2021–2026 are solved free on UnlockIAS — 600 questions in total. Every question shows the correct option taken from the Maharashtra Public Service Commission's own final answer key, an explanation of why that option is right, and a note on why each of the other options is wrong. Are the MPSC answers official?

Yes. The correct option for every solved MPSC question comes from the commission's own FINAL answer key — the revised one published after objections — not from our interpretation. Questions the commission cancelled are labelled as cancelled rather than being quietly given an answer. The explanations around the answer are written by UnlockIAS faculty.

Are MPSC previous year papers available in Marathi?

Yes. All 6 solved MPSC papers have a complete मराठी edition with the same questions, answers and explanations. The commission prints each paper bilingually — the मराठी block and the English block sit under one question number on the same page — so both editions come from the same official booklet. Each English paper links to its मराठी version at the top.

Can I download the MPSC question papers as PDF?

Yes. Each MPSC paper has a free PDF of the question paper — every question with its options, as the commission set it. The PDF is the paper only: no answer key and no explanations, so you can print it and attempt it under timed conditions. The answers and explanations are free on the paper's page on this site.

What is the MPSC prelims paper pattern?

MPSC Paper-I (General Studies) carries 100 questions for 200 marks — 2 marks per question — in 2 hours. There are four options, printed as (1) to (4). A wrong answer costs 1/4 of the marks for that question, i.e. 0.5 marks. Paper-II (CSAT) is a separate paper. Every paper solved here is booklet series A.

Is MPSC the same as MPPSC?

No, and they are easy to confuse. MPSC is the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (Maharashtra, mpsc.gov.in). MPPSC is the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (mppsc.mp.gov.in) — a different commission, a different state and a different paper. MPPSC papers are solved separately on this site at /mppsc-previous-year-questions.

Is solving MPSC PYQ useful for UPSC preparation?

Partly. MPSC's General Studies paper shares its backbone with UPSC — polity, modern history, geography, economy and environment all overlap — so those questions are genuine extra practice. The Maharashtra-specific portion (state history, state geography, state schemes and state current affairs) does not appear in UPSC at all, so treat it as MPSC-only preparation rather than shared revision.

Options are printed as numerals (1) to (4), not letters. Each question is printed once with the मराठी block and the English block under the same number on the same page, so both language editions on this site come from one official booklet rather than from a translation.

The exam was renamed. Through the 2022 edition the paper was printed as the State Services Preliminary Examination (राज्य सेवा पूर्व परीक्षा); from 2023 it carries the Maharashtra Gazetted Civil Services Combined Preliminary Examination name. Papers on this site are listed under the name their own cover prints.
