Our arithmetic, from past years. UPSC declared the CSE 2022 to CSE 2025 results 71 to 75 days after each year’s last paper. Adding 71 to 75 days to 30 August 2026, the day of the last Mains 2026 paper, gives 9 November to 13 November 2026. UPSC has announced no date.

Steps after the Mains result

These steps are from UPSC’s CSE 2025 Mains result notice. The 15-day update window is also in the CSE 2026 notification.

1. Update your application within 15 days. Upload proof of passing the qualifying examination. If you don’t, UPSC cancels your candidature and issues no e-summon letter. In 2025 this window ran from 13 November 2025 to 27 November 2025, till 6:00 P.M., on upsconline.gov.in.
2. In 2025 UPSC also let candidates use the same window to update their address, higher qualifications, achievements, employment details, and Service and Cadre Preference. UPSC treats the details updated in this window as final.
3. Download the e-summon letter from upsc.gov.in or upsconline.gov.in. UPSC does not post paper summon letters.
4. Keep original certificates ready for the interview: age, educational qualification, community, EWS, PwBD, and the TA form.
5. UPSC holds the interviews at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi. Its notice says it will not ordinarily entertain a request to change the date or time.
6. Fill the Attestation Form on DoPT’s cseplus.nic.in, between the start and end of the interviews.
7. Marksheets go online within 15 days of the final result and stay up for 30 days.

Is it still called DAF-II?

Up to CSE 2024, UPSC’s Mains result notice asked candidates to submit a Detailed Application Form-II (DAF-II). The CSE 2025 notice and the CSE 2026 notification no longer use that name. They describe a 15-day window to update the application you already filed.

How many candidates are called for the interview

The CSE 2026 notification says the number summoned will be about twice the number of vacancies, and puts vacancies at about 933. The interview carries 275 marks, with no minimum qualifying marks.

Last year UPSC’s notice listed 2,736 roll numbers (our count of its list). UPSC withheld the results of 3 more candidates because of pending court cases.
