According to Rajasthan's Economic Review 2023-24, the Rajasthan Institute for Transformation and Innovation (RITI) was established on 3 March 2024 in place of the Chief Minister's Rajasthan Economic Transformation Advisory Council (CMRETAC).
RITI is constituted on the lines of NITI Aayog. Its job is to prepare a roadmap to make Rajasthan a developed State, and its listed functions include forming 'State Vision-2047'.
There is a Union parallel: NITI Aayog replaced the Planning Commission in 2015. In Rajasthan, RITI took the place of an advisory council, on the NITI Aayog model.

- (1)Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) — RSLDC is the State's skill training corporation, not a planning body.
It began as the Rajasthan Mission on Livelihoods, incorporated on 17 August 2010, and was converted into RSLDC in May 2012. It trains youth through partner agencies; more than 8 lakh youths had been trained up to March 2024.
- (3)Rajasthan Centre of Advanced Technology (R-CAT) — R-CAT was launched in Jaipur to skill and upskill the State's youth in advanced technology, bringing courses from technology companies onto one platform.
Up to March 2024, around 900 candidates had enrolled in its advanced technical courses on scholarship. It is a training institution, not a replacement for CMRETAC.
- (4)Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (RAJEEVIKA) — RAJEEVIKA is an autonomous society set up in October 2010 under the Rural Development Department. It runs rural livelihood programmes through self-help groups.
Its aim is sustainable institutions of the rural poor that raise household income. It predates CMRETAC's replacement by more than a decade and has a different role.
Concept
A State policy think-tank plans development, advises departments and reviews how schemes perform. At the Union level, NITI Aayog plays this role.
Rajasthan's Economic Review 2023-24 lists RITI's functions. They include estimating the State's physical, financial and manpower resources and suggesting their best use, and proposing sector-wise short- and long-term measures to reduce regional imbalances.
RITI is also to shape 'State Vision-2047', review schemes and programmes, study successful national and international policies, and work as a resource centre and knowledge hub.
RPSC's 2024 syllabus lists "Persons, Places and Institutions in News" under Current Affairs and "Growth, Development and Planning" under Economy of Rajasthan. A new State planning body fits both.
RITI sits among several State bodies with similar-sounding names but separate jobs: RSLDC for skill training, R-CAT for advanced-technology courses and RAJEEVIKA for rural livelihoods through self-help groups.
The Economic Review also ties RITI's advice to the Sustainable Development Goals and to the government's 'Apano Agrani Rajasthan-Sankalp Patra-2023'.
