The Economic Review 2022-23 says students of government schools, madrasas and special training centres under the mid-day meal scheme get milk prepared from milk powder, two days a week in that Review's account.
It is a nutrition scheme for students, not the public kitchen scheme the slogan names.
- (2)Indira Gandhi Rojgar Guarantee Scheme — A rojgar (employment) guarantee scheme is about employment, not meals. The State's Indira Gandhi Shahari Rojgar Guarantee Scheme, in the Economic Review 2022-23, was implemented to provide days of employment every year to families living in urban areas.
It shares the name "Indira" with Indira Rasoi Yojana, but it gives work, not cooked meals.

Concept
As the Economic Review 2022-23 describes it, Indira Rasoi Yojana is a subsidised meals scheme run through urban local bodies. People sit in permanent kitchens and eat a cooked meal for a small fixed price, ₹8 a plate.
The Economic Review 2022-23 lists it under Local Self Government, next to urban schemes such as the Indira Gandhi Urban Credit Card Yojana for street vendors.
In 2023-24, food support in Rajasthan ran through several separate channels. Cooked meals came from the Indira Rasoi kitchens, milk for students from Bal Gopal, and monthly grocery packets for NFSA families from the Annapurna Food Packet Scheme.
RPSC's 2023 Prelims syllabus lists "Major Welfare Schemes of State Government" under the Economy of Rajasthan, naming groups such as the destitute, women, children and labourers.
The Economic Review 2022-23 describes the scheme as Indira Rasoi Yojana and dates its launch to 20 August 2020.
The same Review puts the running cost at ₹250 crore a year for 9.21 crore food plates. It adds that during the corona epidemic 72 lakh needy people were given free food through Indira kitchens, and that food was provided in flood-prone areas and at competitive examinations, police and army recruitment, and fairs, among other occasions.
