Rajasthan's Economic Review 2020-21 describes Parwan in its section on water resources. It says the multipurpose irrigation project “Parwan” is under execution at district Jhalawar on the Parwan river.

It then says that, along with drinking water to 1,821 villages, “this project will provide irrigation facility in 2,01,400 hectare CCA in 637 villages of Jhalawar, Baran and Kota district.”

Those three districts, in that order, are option (1): Jhalawar, Baran and Kota district.

The idea to remember: Parwan project: built in Jhalawar on the Parwan river; irrigation for Jhalawar, Baran and Kota.

Why the others are wrong

  Tonk, Bundi and Kota district — Only Kota is right. The option leaves out Jhalawar, where the project is being built, and Baran, and adds Tonk and Bundi, which the Economic Review does not name for Parwan's irrigation.

  Kota, Bundi and Jhalawar district — Two of the three districts are right, but Bundi has taken Baran's place. The Review names the command villages as lying in Jhalawar, Baran and Kota.
• (4)
  Jhalawar and Bhilwara district — Jhalawar is right, but the option names only two districts and one of them is wrong. The Review gives three, Jhalawar, Baran and Kota; Bhilwara is not among them.

A multipurpose project uses the same water for more than one purpose. For Parwan, the Economic Review 2020-21 lists three: irrigation of 2,01,400 hectares of culturable command area, drinking water for 1,821 villages, and water for a thermal power project.

The Review says the project will provide 79 million cubic metres of water to the Thermal Power Project, which will produce electricity with a capacity of 2,970 megawatt.

The Review states the irrigated area as CCA, culturable command area: the cultivable land within the area a project commands.
