For timely prevention of malnutrition, the UNICEF has been using the simple inexpensive method of growth monitoring charts which helps mothers whether or not their children are growing and gaining weight correctly and thus can be an effective aid to sound child health and nutrition. The first requirement for children and adults who are undernourished and living at subsistence level is adequate quantity of food.
