About this course
“I did GS for Prelims, so GK is covered.” IFoS General Knowledge is a separate written paper with its own syllabus, depth and question style: it is written, not ticked. Your Prelims reading is the raw material; what’s missing is knowing which dimensions a question wants, how much to write, and where the examiner expects the answer to go. The printed syllabus is one paragraph, but 13 years of papers show the real boundary runs into environment, economy, agriculture and S&T.

I’ve done GS for Prelims: isn’t GK already covered?
No. IFoS General Knowledge is a separate written paper with its own syllabus, depth and style. Your Prelims reading is the raw information; this module adds what doesn’t carry over, which dimensions a question wants, how much to write, and where the examiner expects the answer to go.
What does the module contain?
18 videos (17h 48m) in three layers (Syllabus Parsing, PYQ Mapping, and Model Answers) plus 14 documents including 156-page Science & Technology mind-map handouts and GK papers from 2019 to 2025.
How is the GK paper structured?
6 questions, each in 4 parts: 24 compulsory sub-answers in 180 minutes, about seven minutes each. Parts (a) and (b) are 15 marks / 200 words; (c) and (d) are 10 marks / 125 words. There’s no internal choice, so coverage matters more than depth on any one topic.
The syllabus looks tiny: what’s actually asked?
The printed syllabus is one paragraph, but 13 years of papers run well past it into environment, economy, agriculture and S&T. PYQ Mapping shows you the paper’s real boundary, so you stop over-reading topics that have never been asked in depth.
How much time does it take?
Under 18 hours of video, plus the handouts: a week or two of evenings at your own pace.
Do I get the mapping documents to revise later?
Yes. All six PYQ-mapping documents come with the videos, so you can revise the whole mapping without sitting through the hours again.
