Read the following passage carefully and answer the question : The Wodehouses, like others, were in constant contact with the British Vice-Consul in Boulogne and expected to be alerted by him if it became no longer safe to remain in residence. The warning was never given. As with the others who had continued to live in the area, it seemed that the Wodehouses did not really appreciate the extent of the danger they were in by staying on. On 21st May, the Wodehouses set out in a car chock full of possessions from their house in Le Touquet. After covering only a short distance, the car broke down, having been repaired poorly after a crash some weeks ago. They had not noticed problems with the car as they had been using their other car since then. They set out again, this time in a convoy with their neighbours, who were travelling in a van and a car. The van broke down. By the time it was repaired it was evening and the party decided to return to Le Touquet. That night the Germans captured the town. Wodehouse was required to report to the German authorities at the town of Paris Plage each day while his wife was required to report once a week. The Germans commandeered the Wodehouse bathroom. This fact and Wodehouse's comments on it were to spawn various stories proving his support and sympathies for the Germans.
