Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. Paes's Atlanta 1996 bronze came in men's singles. He lost the semi-final to Andre Agassi, then beat Brazil's Fernando Meligeni 3–6, 6–2, 6–4 for the medal.

It was India's first individual Olympic medal since K. D. Jadhav's bronze at Helsinki 1952.

Paes went on to play seven consecutive Olympics, from 1992 to 2016.

His Barcelona run was in doubles, with Ramesh Krishnan. His Atlanta medal was in singles. Keeping the events apart keeps the two Games apart.
