Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. The solutions are written by UnlockIAS.

Why

Correct — A. Fix the three Sultanate founders first.

Khalji dynasty → Jalaluddin Khalji (3), from 1290.
Sayyid dynasty → Khizr Khan (4), from 1414.
Lodi dynasty → Bahlul Lodi (1), from 1451.

That leaves Ananga Pala (2) for the Tomaras, the Rajput rulers of Delhi before the Chauhans.
A → 2, B → 3, C → 4, D → 1 is option (a).

Why the others are wrong

A → 3, B → 2, C → 4, D → 1 — It gives the Tomaras Jalaluddin Khalji and the Khaljis Ananga Pala. Jalaluddin founded the Khalji dynasty in 1290, and Ananga Pala was a Tomara.
(c)
A → 4, B → 3, C → 2, D → 1 — It makes Khizr Khan the Tomara founder and hands the Sayyid dynasty to Ananga Pala. Khizr Khan founded the Sayyid dynasty in 1414.
(d)
A → 1, B → 3, C → 4, D → 2 — It swaps the first and last rows. Bahlul Lodi founded the Lodi dynasty in 1451, while Ananga Pala was a Tomara, not a Lodi.

Concept

NCERT's Class 7 history says Delhi first became the capital of a kingdom under the Tomara Rajputs, who were defeated in the middle of the twelfth century by the Chauhans of Ajmer.

Accounts of the dynasty name its founder as Anangpal I, and the Lal Kot fortification in Delhi is attributed to Anangpal Tomar.

NCERT's table of Delhi's rulers then runs from the early Turkish rulers (from 1206) through the Khalji, Tughluq, Sayyid and Lodi dynasties.

Leave the Tomara row for last: more than one Tomara king was called Anangapala, and the question calls him a founder. The three Sultanate founders are firm, and they fix it.
