Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. He clocked 13:54.70, bettering the meet record of 13:54.72 set in 1994 by Bahadur Singh. That is the 30-year-old record the stem refers to.

National championships run by the Athletics Federation of India each keep their own meet record, separate from the national record.

Gulveer Singh is a long-distance runner. He won 10,000 m bronze at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, and in 2025 set national records at 5,000 m indoors (12:59.77) and 10,000 m (27:00.22).

The stem's wording is loose. The record Gulveer broke was the National Open Championships' own meet record, not an Asian Games record. The Athletics Federation of India's report describes him as an Asian Games medallist.
