Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Why

Correct — A.
Rule: daughter of a daughter = granddaughter.

B is the daughter of C, so C is B's parent.
A is the daughter of B, one generation below B.
So A is two generations below C, and female: C's granddaughter → option (a).

Why the others are wrong

Niece — Niece is the daughter of a brother or sister. That needs B to be C's sibling, but B is C's daughter.

Sister — Sister is a relation on the same generation. A is two generations below C, because C is the parent of A's mother B.

Cousin — Cousin is the child of a parent's brother or sister, on your own generation. A sits two generations below C.

Concept

A blood-relation chain is solved one link at a time. Fix each person's generation: C at the top, B one level down as C's daughter, A two levels down as B's daughter.

Two levels down, female, is granddaughter. C's gender is never given and does not matter: C is A's grandmother or grandfather, and either way A is C's granddaughter.

Draw the chain top to bottom as C, B, A. Sister and cousin sit on one level, and niece needs a brother or sister in the chain, so each fails at a glance.
