Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Why

Correct — A. Statement 1 matches the IJF's Sport and Organisation Rules: the contest area is a minimum of 8 m × 8 m (maximum 10 m × 10 m), and the safety area around it a minimum of 3 m.

Statement 2 is not a rule. The IJF ties colour to the draw: the athlete on top of the draw sheet wears white, the one below wears blue.

Only 1 is correct → option (a).

Why the others are wrong

Only 2 is Correct — Statement 2 is the false one. The IJF gives white to the athlete on top of the draw sheet, and no rule makes blue the first called in every contest.

1 and 2 are Correct — Statement 2 fails, so both cannot be correct. Blue is announced first only when athletes enter from the left; from the right, white goes first.
(d)
Neither 1 nor 2 are Correct — Statement 1 is true: the IJF minimum is an 8 m × 8 m contest area with a safety area at least 3 m wide.

Concept

A judo competition area has two zones in contrasting colours: the contest area, where the bout is fought, and the safety area around it.

IJF events use a contest area from 8 m × 8 m to 10 m × 10 m, a safety area of at least 3 m, and at least 4 m between two adjoining contest areas.

One athlete wears a white judogi and the other a blue one, so officials and spectators can tell them apart.

The IJF does fix a walk-on order, and it depends on the side. Entering from the left, the athlete in blue is called first; from the right, the athlete in white.

An older edition of the IJF rules (2010) did say the first competitor called always wears blue. The July 2020 edition ties the order to the side of entry, and the key reads statement 2 as false.

Assuming that because one athlete wears blue, the rules also fix blue as the first called.
Mixing up the 3 m safety area with the 4 m needed between two adjoining contest areas.
