Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. The solutions are written by UnlockIAS.

Milkha Singh won the 440 yards at Cardiff in 1958. P.T. Usha finished fourth in the 400m hurdles at Los Angeles in 1984, 1/100 of a second behind the bronze. The National Institute of Sports opened at Patiala in 1961.

Statement 2 is built to pass a quick read: the age (20) and the margin (1/100 s) belong to the real race, and only the Games are swapped. Usha was born in June 1964, so she was 16 at Moscow, where she ran the 100m, and 20 at Los Angeles.
