Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — B. The Sustainable Development Report is an annual report that measures countries' progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, mainly through its SDG Index.

Why the others are wrong

Millennium Development Goals — The MDGs ended in 2015. The eight Millennium Development Goals covered 2000 to 2015 and were succeeded by the SDGs, so a 2024 report does not track them.

Environmental Protection Goals — 'Environmental Protection Goals' is not a UN goal set. Environmental aims sit inside the SDGs, for example Goal 13 on climate action and Goals 14 and 15 on life below water and on land.

Human Rights Goals — 'Human Rights Goals' is not a UN goal framework. Human rights are set out in instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), not in a numbered set of goals.

Concept

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 goals with 169 targets, adopted by the UN General Assembly in September 2015 as the core of the 2030 Agenda.

They took effect on 1 January 2016 and succeeded the eight Millennium Development Goals.

The Sustainable Development Report ranks countries on an SDG Index that scores their progress towards all 17 goals.

The stem calls it the UN report. It is published by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

The UN's Department of Economic and Social Affairs publishes a separate Sustainable Development Goals Report. Both track the SDGs, so the answer is the same either way.
