Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Rule: two people with the same father are siblings.

P is the father of Q, and P is the father of R.
Q and R share a parent and sit in the same generation, so they are brothers, sisters, or a brother and a sister.

The word that covers all three is Siblings → option (c).

Why the others are wrong

(a)
Father — Father is P's relation to Q and R, not theirs to each other. Q and R belong to the same generation, so neither can be the other's parent.
(b)
Grandmother — Grandmother is two generations up. Q and R share a father, which puts them on the same level of the family tree.
(d)
Mother — Mother is one generation up, and the statement names no mother at all. Q and R are children of the same father, so neither is a parent of the other.

Concept

A blood-relation item is solved by placing each person on a generation line. A parent sits one line above a child, a grandparent two lines above.

Here P sits on the top line, and Q and R share the line below. People on the same line with a common parent are siblings. The statement gives no genders, so brother or sister could not be decided, and sibling needs no gender.

Father, Grandmother and Mother all name someone one or two generations above Q and R, so the generation check alone clears them away.
