Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Why

Correct — D. Sentence 2 opens: it names creativity and leans on nothing before it. Sentence 1 names creativity too, but its Therefore needs an argument already made.

However in 3 turns against the misunderstanding in 2: creativity is not an innate talent but a skill that can be developed.

Sentence 4 says what that skill involves. Therefore in 1 then draws the conclusion. Order 2-3-4-1 → option (d).

Why the others are wrong

(a)
2-1-3-4 — Therefore straight after 2 concludes from a misunderstanding: creativity is thought innate, therefore fostering it is vital. That does not follow, and the real reason, sentence 3, comes after the conclusion.
(b)
2-4-1-3 — However last would have to contradict the conclusion in 1, that fostering creativity is vital, and it does not. However belongs straight after 2, the misunderstanding it corrects.
(c)
3-4-2-1 — Opening with However, it gives the contrast nothing to turn against and the pronoun nothing to refer to. Creativity is not named until the third sentence in this order.

Concept

This jumble is built on connectives and pronouns, and they do most of the work.

A sentence opening with However needs a claim before it to push against. A sentence opening with Therefore needs reasons before it, so it comes late. A sentence built on it needs its noun named earlier.

The order traces a simple argument: misconception (2), correction (3), detail (4), conclusion (1).

Treating 3 and 4 as interchangeable, when However must follow directly after the misunderstanding it answers
