Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Convert the sentence provided below from its passive voice structure to an active voice structure: A bonus will be given to all employees by the management next month.

(a)The management gives a bonus to all employees.
(b)The management had given a bonus to all employees.
(c)The management will give a bonus to all employees next month.
(d)A bonus was given by the management to all employees.

Why

Correct — C. Turn the passive back to active in three moves.

The agent after by, the management, becomes the subject.
The passive subject, a bonus, becomes the object.
Will be given (future passive) becomes will give (future active).

Everything else stays, including next month: The management will give a bonus to all employees next month, option (c).

Why the others are wrong

(a)
The management gives a bonus to all employees. — Gives is the present simple. Will be given is future, and the active has to keep that tense; this option also drops next month.
(b)
The management had given a bonus to all employees. — Had given is past perfect, an action finished before another past one. The original describes a bonus still to come, and next month is gone too.
(d)
A bonus was given by the management to all employees. — Was given is still passive, now in the past tense. The words are reshuffled, but the management never becomes the subject.

Concept

A passive verb is a form of be + past participle, and the doer, if named, sits in a by-phrase. Converting to active reverses both: the by-agent becomes the subject, and the verb drops be.

The tense is carried by be. Will be given is future, so the active is will give. Is given would become gives, and was given would become gave.

Time phrases such as next month carry across unchanged.
