Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Statement 1: the Vijay Stambha (Tower of Victory) and the Kirti Stambha (Tower of Fame) both stand inside Chittorgarh Fort.

Statement 2: the fort's 65 historic structures include four palaces and 19 large temples.

Statement 3: the first hill fort, with one main entrance, was established in the 5th century and fortified until the 12th. So 1, 2 and 3 → option (d).

Concept

Chittorgarh was the capital of Mewar and stands on a hill above the Berach river valley in Rajasthan. It is one of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan, six forts inscribed together as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.

The ascent passes through seven gates, the last and main one being Ram Pol. These gates were built under Rana Kumbha (1433–1468), long after the first 5th-century fort.

Statement 3 needs a careful reading. Today's main gate, Ram Pol, is a 15th-century work of Rana Kumbha.

What dates to the 5th century is the first hill fort and its single main entrance, and that is the sense in which the key counts statement 3 as correct.
