Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. The solutions are written by UnlockIAS.

Correct — B. Sentence 2 opens by naming the topic: data analytics.

3 follows at once: 'It involves collecting, processing, and interpreting large datasets'. Its It can only be data analytics.

1 comes next: 'This provides real-time information' — this is the collecting and processing just described.

4 closes with what companies do with the data → 2-3-1-4, option (b).

Why the others are wrong

2-1-3-4 — 2-1-3-4 places 1 between the topic and its definition, so the It of sentence 3 would follow 'decision-making' instead of data analytics.

2-4-1-3 — 2-4-1-3 leaves the definition, 3, until last, so 'It involves…' ends the paragraph far from data analytics, the noun it refers to.

3-4-2-1 — Opening with 3 starts on It, a pronoun with nothing before it to refer to. Sentence 2, which names the topic, has to come first.

Concept

Pronouns and demonstratives are the links in a parajumble. An It needs its noun close before it, and a sentence-opening This points back to the idea just stated.

Here 2 names data analytics, 3 defines it with It, 1 says what that process provides with This, and 4 turns to the companies that use the data.
