Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — B. Tripura's Department of Information and Cultural Affairs describes Kharchi as 'the festival associated with the indigenous tribal deities', held in June-July at Old Agartala.

What is worshipped are the head-images of fourteen deities, and the Chantai, the chief priest, chants the mantras → option (b).

Why the others are wrong

Worship of Lord Jagannath — Lord Jagannath is the deity of Puri in Odisha, honoured in the Rath Yatra. Kharchi's worship is of Tripura's fourteen deities.

Commemoration of Tripura's statehood day — Tripura became a state on 21 January 1972, and that is its statehood day. Kharchi is a June-July festival of the fourteen deities, not a political anniversary.

Worship of River Goddess Yamuna — Kharchi's object is the fourteen deities, worshipped as head-images with names such as Hara, Uma and Hari. It is not a festival of the river goddess Yamuna.

Concept

Kharchi Puja is one of Tripura's most popular festivals, held every year in June-July at Khayerpur, Old Agartala. It is said to have been begun by Tripura's royal family when their capital was at Old Agartala.

Only the head-images of fourteen deities are worshipped. They carry Brahmanical names such as Hara, Uma and Hari, and the state describes the festival as influenced by Brahmanical Hindus. A fair around it runs for seven days.

The key's wording, 'indigenous tribal deities', is the state government's own phrase. The Hindu names on the images are why an option like Jagannath can look plausible.
