Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Direction: Read the given information carefully and answer the questions asked below.
Seven people A, B, C, D, E, F, and G live on seven different floors of a building but not necessarily in the same order. The lowermost floor of the building is numbered as 1 and topmost floor is numbered as 7. A does not live on the topmost floor. B lives immediately below F. C lives on an even-numbered floor. Three people live between F and C. The number of people living between F and D is equal to the number of people living between D and C. More than four people live between E and G. B lives on one of the floors below G.

Why

Correct — C.
Rule: fix the extreme floors first, then the linked pairs.

More than four people between E and G: floors 1 and 7. B is below G, so G = 7, E = 1.

C is even and 4 floors from F, and B is just under F. C = 4 has no floor 4 away, and C = 6 puts B on E's floor 1. So C = 2, F = 6, B = 5.

D is midway between F and C: D = 4. A takes floor 3.
Two floors below A is floor 1: E → option (c).

Why the others are wrong

C — C is on floor 2, directly below A on floor 3. Two floors below A is floor 1, where E lives.

Concept

Floor puzzles are solved by fixing the most restrictive clue first. More than four people between two persons in a seven-floor building leaves only floors 1 and 7.

Next come clues that tie two people together: B just below F, three people between F and C. Test each possible floor for the even-floored C and discard any that collides with a floor already taken.

Write the final order as a column, floor 7 at the top, before answering.
