Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. The solutions are written by UnlockIAS.

Correct — B.
Rule: reverse the word. FLOWER from the last letter back is R, E, W, O, L, F = REWOLF.

FRUITS from the last letter back:
S, T, I, U, R, F = STIURF → option (b).

Check: STIURF read backwards is FRUITS.

Why the others are wrong

(a)
STUIRF — STUIRF puts U before I. FRUITS reversed runs S, T, I, U, R, F, because I comes after U in FRUITS.
(c)
STUIFR — STUIFR ends in R. In a reversal the first letter, F, must come last, as F ends REWOLF.
(d)
STRUIF — STRUIF puts R third. R is the second letter of FRUITS, so reversed it must be second from the end.

Concept

Word-transformation analogies show a rule with one pair and ask you to apply it to a new word. Check whether letters change or only move: FLOWER and REWOLF use the same six letters, so the rule is a reordering.

REWOLF is FLOWER read backwards, so FRUITS is read backwards too. Write the letters out from the end, one at a time, rather than reversing the word by eye.

All four options start ST, so the first two letters decide nothing. They differ in the middle, in the order of I and U, and in where R and F fall.

Key facts

In a reversal the first letter goes last and the last letter goes first.
Reversing a word twice gives back the original, a quick check on any reversal.
If both words in a pair use the same letters, the rule reorders them rather than shifting them.
