Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Why the others are wrong

1-A 2-C 3-B 4-D — Karma is not folk theatre, and Tamasha is no harvest rite. Option (b) swaps B and C between them, so both pairs break.

1-B 2-A 3-C 4-D — Rauf and Karma are swapped. Rauf belongs to Kashmir's Eid and wedding festivities, while the Bhadra Ekadashi ritual is the Karam festival.
(d)
1-A 2-B 3-D 4-C — Tamasha and Jhumar are swapped. Tamasha is theatre, so it cannot be the tea-garden recreation, and Jhumar is a dance, not folk theatre.

Rauf is a women's dance of Kashmir, danced in facing rows at Eid, in Ramzan and at weddings. Karma belongs to the tribal belt of Jharkhand and nearby States, danced around a Karam branch at the Karam festival.

Tamasha is Marathi folk theatre mixing song and dance. Jhumar is a harvest dance of Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Bihar and West Bengal.

Jhumar names more than one dance: Punjab has a Jhumar of its own. The tea-garden row fits the eastern Jhumar, which is danced in Assam, not the Punjabi one.
