Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — C. The 2022 cycle of the All India Tiger Estimation counted 260 tigers within Corbett, more than in any other tiger reserve.

The other three fall short of 150 on that count: Nagarhole 141, Ranthambore 57, Satpura 50.

Corbett is the one above 150 → option (c).

Concept

India counts its tigers every four years in the All India Tiger Estimation, which relies on camera traps. The 2022 cycle's reserve-wise figures were released in 2023.

Corbett, in Uttarakhand, topped the reserves with 260 tigers. Bandipur (150) and Nagarhole (141), both in Karnataka, came next.

Corbett is also where Project Tiger began, in 1973.

The stem's 2024 is not the year of the national count: the reserve-wise figures that settle this question come from the 2022 cycle, released in 2023. On those figures Corbett is the option above 150, which is the reading the key takes.
