Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Why

Correct — B. The Government of Jharkhand's own description says Tusu "is mostly seen in the area between Bundu, Tamar and Raidih area of Jharkhand". The stem follows that sentence, so the blank is Bundu.

The same description calls Tusu a harvest festival held in winter, on the last day of the month of Poush.

Why the others are wrong

Dumka — Dumka is the headquarters of the Santhal Pargana division, well away from the belt the state names for Tusu: Bundu, Tamar and Raidih.

Daltonganj — Daltonganj (Medininagar) is the headquarters of Palamu district in north-western Jharkhand. It is not one of the places the state's description names.

Chaibasa — Chaibasa is the headquarters of West Singhbhum district. The state's description of the Tusu belt names Bundu, Tamar and Raidih, not Chaibasa.

Concept

Tusu (Tusu Parab) is a winter harvest festival. The Government of Jharkhand places it on the last day of Poush and describes it as a festival also for unmarried girls.

Girls decorate a wooden or bamboo frame with coloured paper and offer it to a nearby river. The state notes that written history of the festival is scarce, but its folk songs are many.

All four options are real Jharkhand towns, so map knowledge alone will not settle it. The item rewards knowing the state's own description of the festival, which places it around Bundu, in Ranchi district.

Choosing Dumka or Chaibasa because they are better-known district towns, when the named belt is around Bundu.
