Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — A. The International Judo Federation's history records that in May 1882 Jigoro Kano, drawing on traditional forms of combat, created a method of education he named judo. His Kodokan in Tokyo dates from the same year.

Each of the other statements misstates a year, a place or a medal colour.

Concept

Judo was Jigoro Kano's reworking of traditional Japanese combat into a system of physical, intellectual and moral education. The Kodokan he founded in 1882 is still the headquarters of world judo.

Its Olympic path starts at Tokyo 1964. Judo was left out in 1968 and has been held at every Games since. Women competed as a demonstration event at Seoul 1988 and for medals from Barcelona 1992.

In India, the Judo Federation of India was formed in 1965 and affiliated to the IJF the same year.
