Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Why

Correct — A.
Rule: facing North, your right is East and your left is West.

Seat A and B in a row, both facing North — the reading the key takes.
B is two seats East of A, so one person, call them X, sits between them.

From B, left points West, back towards A, and the first seat that way is X.
X is the person on A's immediate right → option (a).

Why the others are wrong

The person seated opposite to A — Opposite A fails in a row and in a circle facing the centre. In a single row nobody sits opposite A. In a four-seat circle, B itself sits opposite A, and B's left points back to the seat between them.

The person seated to the immediate left of A — The person on A's immediate left sits West of A, on the far side from B. B's left points back towards A and stops at the seat between them.
(d)
Cannot be determined — Cannot be determined rests on B's direction being unknown. The key reads B as facing North like A, and then the seat to B's left is fixed: the one between them.

Concept

Left and right belong to the person, not to the page. For anyone facing North, right is East and left is West. For someone facing South, the two swap.

So place the people first, then turn to face the way each one faces. Here B is second to A's right, which puts one person between them, and B's left looks straight back at that person.

The question states A's direction but never B's. The key reads B as facing North too. If B faced South, B's left would point East, away from A, and a different person would sit there.
