Correct — D. The inaugural Women's Premier League match was played on 4 March 2023 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Gujarat Giants against Mumbai Indians.

The venue city is therefore Mumbai.

The whole first season stayed there — every match at either the DY Patil Stadium or the Brabourne Stadium.

Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals in the final on 26 March 2023 to take the first title.

Why the others are wrong

Chennai — Chennai hosted no WPL fixture in 2023. The season was confined to two grounds, both in the Mumbai region.
(b)
Kolkata — Kolkata had no WPL 2023 match either. Its cricketing association is with the men's IPL and Eden Gardens, not the first women's season.
(c)
Delhi — Delhi Capitals did reach the 2023 final, but the final was staged in Mumbai. No 2023 WPL match was played in Delhi.

Concept

The Women's Premier League is the BCCI's franchise Twenty20 competition for women, launched in 2023.

The five founding teams were Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants.

Being a first edition, it had no home-and-away structure. All fixtures were centralised in Mumbai across about three weeks in March 2023.

Mumbai Indians, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, won the final against Delhi Capitals to become the inaugural champions.

SSC's current-affairs window for the 2024 CGL cycle reaches well back into 2023, so the first edition of a new tournament is standard material.
