Why

Correct — B. The IMMIES are presented by MTV, which is why the show is branded as the MTV Immies.

This is a channel-to-award pairing, and the award's own title carries the answer: the presenting channel's name sits in front of it.

The other three names on the list are Indian music channels too — Channel V until it closed in 2018 — which is exactly why they are printed here, but the Immies are MTV's, option (b).

Why the others are wrong

9XM — 9XM is an Indian music television channel with no claim on the Immies. Being a real music channel is what makes it a usable distractor, not a reason to mark it.

Concept

SSC's award questions come in a small number of shapes: who won it, who gives it, which field it belongs to, or which year it was won.

This is the who gives it shape, and it has a shortcut. Where an award is run by a broadcaster or an institution, the name usually says so — the MTV Immies being the plain case.

When the name gives you nothing, fall back on the field: an award for the Indian music industry will be run by a music channel, an industry body or a state government, not by a general news outlet.

The paper prints the name in capitals as IMMIES. The show's own branding is MTV Immies, after the channel that presents it. Same award.
