Why

Correct — D. The question, printed inside the diagram, asks how many women entrepreneurs are NOT Indian. So you want the part inside both Women and Entrepreneurs but outside Indian.

Rule: the overlap of two circles, minus the slice that also falls inside the third.

Entrepreneurs and Women overlap in two regions — the 18, which lies outside the Indian circle, and the central 11, which lies inside all three.

Women entrepreneurs altogether are 18 + 11 = 29, and 11 of those are Indian.

The ones who are not Indian are the 18 on its own — option (d).

Why the others are wrong

(a)
11 — Option (a) is the central region, the women entrepreneurs who ARE Indian. That is exactly the group the word NOT removes.
(b)
17 — Option (b) is the Entrepreneurs-and-Indian overlap lying outside the Women circle — Indian entrepreneurs who are not women, which fails both of the conditions asked for.
(c)
29 — Option (c) is 18 + 11, all women entrepreneurs including the Indian ones. It is the right region to find and the wrong place to stop.

Concept

A three-circle Venn diagram has seven regions, and every number printed in it belongs to exactly one of them. The skill is translating the sentence into a list of regions and adding only those.

Women entrepreneurs is the overlap of two circles, which is two regions — the pairwise-only part and the central part. NOT Indian then discards the central part.

So the answer is a single region, the 18, and the arithmetic is no more than reading it off.

The printed numbers are already region-exclusive — the 59 inside Women, for instance, counts women who are neither entrepreneurs nor Indian. Nothing has to be subtracted to undo double counting, which is the assumption worth checking first in any Venn item.
