Correct — C, August 1859. Thakur Ranmat Singh is remembered as the leader of the anti-British resistance in Baghelkhand — the Rewa-centred tract of what is now north-eastern Madhya Pradesh — during and after the revolt of 1857. He kept the fight going for roughly two years beyond the outbreak of May 1857, and was captured and hanged only after the rising had been crushed across central India, in August 1859. Madhya Pradesh commemorates him in the name of the government degree college at Rewa, Thakur Ranmat Singh Mahavidyalaya (T.R.S. College).

Why the other options are wrong — (a) Far too early. The revolt had only just spread from Meerut (10 May 1857) into central India by that summer; Baghelkhand's resistance was beginning, not ending, and his execution came after the rebellion was put down.
