Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — A. Fix the two pairs you know best first.

Kalbelia is the dance of Rajasthan's snake-charming Kalbelia community → 1-A.
Panthi is the devotional dance of Chhattisgarh's Satnami community → 2-B.

Option (a) is the one with both 1-A and 2-B. Its other pairs hold too: Dangi is named for Gujarat's Dang district (3-C), and Paika is the martial dance tied to Odisha's warrior tradition (4-D) → option (a).

Why the others are wrong

Concept

Folk dances are tied to the community that performs them.

Kalbelia: the Kalbelia of Rajasthan, once snake handlers. The women dancers mimic a serpent's movements.
Panthi: the Satnami community of Chhattisgarh, followers of Guru Ghasidas.

Paika: a martial dance performed with sword and shield, recalling the paiks, foot soldiers of the past.

Paika is also danced outside Odisha: in Jharkhand the Rautia and some Munda perform it. The stem's Odisha pairing still stands, and the Kalbelia and Panthi pairs settle the answer on their own.
