Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Rearrange the following sentences in correct order to make a logical passage. 1. Therefore, emotional intelligence is highly valued in leadership. 2. Answer

Why

Correct — B. Sentence 2 gives the term with its abbreviation, Emotional intelligence (EQ), so it opens. Sentences 3 and 4 both begin with It, which needs that noun before it.

Sentence 4 says also — 'It also includes' — so it adds to 3, which gives the first component.

Therefore in sentence 1 draws the conclusion from what EQ involves, so it closes → 2-3-4-1, option (b).

Why the others are wrong

2-1-3-4 — Puts the Therefore conclusion second, straight after 'distinct from IQ'. Being valued in leadership follows from what EQ involves — sentences 3 and 4 — which this order gives afterwards.

2-4-1-3 — Places 4's 'also includes' before sentence 3, the first component it adds to, and leaves sentence 3 stranded after the conclusion.

Concept

Three markers settle this jumble.

A full name with its abbreviation, 'Emotional intelligence (EQ)', marks a first mention, so it opens. It in 3 and 4 refers back to it.

Also adds a second item to a first, so 4 follows 3.

Sentence 1 repeats the full name 'emotional intelligence' instead of 'It', which can make it look like an opener. Therefore rules that out: a conclusion needs its reasons before it.
