Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — C. PIB, 29 May 2025: the Indian Army contingent left for the 17th edition of Nomadic Elephant, scheduled at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 31 May to 13 June 2025.

The exercise alternates between India and Mongolia, and the 16th edition was held at Umroi, Meghalaya, in July 2024. So 2025 was Mongolia's turn → option (c).

Why the others are wrong

Umroi, Meghalaya — Umroi, Meghalaya hosted the previous, 16th edition in July 2024. The exercise alternates, so the 17th went to Mongolia.
(b)
Leh, Ladakh — Leh was not the venue. PIB placed the 17th edition in Ulaanbaatar, and the Indian edition before it was at Umroi, not Ladakh.
(d)
Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh — The Indian troops came mainly from the Arunachal Scouts, which can pull you toward Tawang. The exercise itself was held in Ulaanbaatar.

Concept

Nomadic Elephant is an annual India–Mongolia joint military exercise, held alternately in the two countries.

Its aim is interoperability: joint task-force drills for semi-conventional operations in semi-urban or mountainous terrain under a United Nations mandate.

PIB described the 2025 edition as a platoon-level field training exercise that also brought in cyber warfare aspects.
