Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — B. Statement 2 is true. Gita Upadhyay's first published book was a Nepali translation of Anne Frank's diary (1972), and she co-translated the diary into Assamese with Basanti Laskar (1975).

Statement 1 fails: she was from Assam, but she wrote in Nepali and Assamese, not Hindi.

Statement 3 fails: her 2025 award was the Padma Shri → option (b).

Why the others are wrong

1 only — Statement 1 is false. Sahitya Akademi listed her among its 2016 award winners for Nepali, and she also wrote in Assamese, not Hindi.

3 only — Statement 3 is false. The Gazette of 27 May 2025 lists Ms. Gita Upadhyay under the Padma Shri, for Literature and Education, Assam.

1,2 and 3 all are correct — Statements 1 and 3 both fail: her language is Nepali (and Assamese), and her 2025 award the Padma Shri, not the Padma Bhushan.

Gita Upadhyay of Assam wrote and translated in Nepali and Assamese. Her first book was a Nepali translation of Anne Frank's diary (1972), and an Assamese version, co-translated with Basanti Laskar, followed in 1975.

Her Nepali novel won the Sahitya Akademi Award for 2016. In 2025 she received the Padma Shri for Literature and Education.

The question tests three details: her language, her work and the tier of her award.

Two translations, into Nepali and into Assamese, are what make the plural 'Indian languages' in statement 2 true.
