Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — C. The official PMKSY site states the scheme's vision in two slogans: Har Khet ko Pani, extending the coverage of irrigation, and More crop per drop, improving water-use efficiency.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana on 1 July 2015. Sinchayee means irrigation, which is what the slogan promises → option (c).

Why the others are wrong

Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana — Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana promotes organic farming (paramparagat means traditional). It concerns how crops are grown, not bringing irrigation water to fields.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana — Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is crop insurance (bima means insurance). It compensates farmers for crop loss and does not build irrigation.
(d)
Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana — Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana is a broad farm-development scheme. Since 2022-23 it carries PMKSY's Per Drop More Crop component, but Har Khet ko Pani is PMKSY's slogan.

Concept

PMKSY pairs two aims: more farmland under irrigation, and more crop from each unit of water. The PMKSY site calls it an end-to-end approach, from creating water sources to applying water in the field.

Its components include the Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), Har Khet Ko Pani, Per Drop More Crop and Watershed development.

Per Drop More Crop works on water-use efficiency at farm level through micro irrigation: drip and sprinkler systems.
