Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. C. V. Raman was a physicist, awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for his work on the scattering of light → option (a).

Why the others are wrong

Subhash Chandra Bose — Subhash Chandra Bose led the Azad Hind Fauj, the Indian National Army, against British rule. He belongs with Gandhi, Patel and Bhagat Singh, not apart from them.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel led the Bardoli Satyagraha of 1928, which earned him the title Sardar. He is a freedom-struggle leader like the rest of the group.

Mahatma Gandhi — Mahatma Gandhi led the Salt March of 1930 and the Quit India Movement of 1942. He sits at the centre of the freedom-fighter group, not outside it.

Concept

An odd-one-out on people asks what field most of them share. Four names here belong to India's freedom struggle and one belongs to science.

The series lists five names but offers four as options. Bhagat Singh is not an option, yet he fixes the group: a revolutionary hanged by the British in 1931, he is plainly a freedom fighter.

Splitting by method does not work. Bhagat Singh and Bose took up arms while Gandhi and Patel did not, which makes two pairs and leaves Raman in neither. The field is what gives a single odd name: Raman, the scientist.
