Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — C. The BRICS foreign ministers met in Pretoria on 4 June 2018. Their media statement welcomed the institutional progress of the New Development Bank, including the upcoming establishment of the Americas Regional Office in São Paulo, Brazil.

Alongside the Africa Regional Centre, it said, the office would help the NDB consolidate its presence on those continents. So option (c).

Why the others are wrong

Concept

The New Development Bank was set up by the BRICS countries. Its founding agreement was signed at the sixth BRICS summit in Fortaleza in 2014, and it is headquartered in Shanghai.

NDB's history records its regional offices: the Africa Regional Center in Johannesburg (2017), the Americas Regional Office in São Paulo (2019), the Eurasian Regional Centre in Moscow (2020) and an India Regional Office in GIFT City (2022).

The stem says the office was announced at the 2018 meeting. The statement itself speaks of its upcoming establishment, and the office opened the following year.
