Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Correct — A. On 18 September 2024 the Union Cabinet approved building the first module of the Bharatiya Antariksh Station, BAS-1, by extending the Gaganyaan programme.

The PIB release sets the launch of that first module in 2028, with the programme's eight missions to be completed by December 2028. So option (a).

Why the others are wrong

2030 — 2030 is not a date in the Cabinet release. Its dates are 2028 for the first module, 2035 for the station and 2040 for a crewed lunar mission.

2035 — 2035 is when the full station is meant to be operational. The first module comes seven years earlier.
(d)
2040 — 2040 is the target for an Indian crewed lunar mission, not for any part of the space station.

Concept

The Gaganyaan programme, approved in December 2018, is India's human spaceflight effort to Low Earth Orbit, led by ISRO.

The September 2024 decision widened it to include BAS-1 and precursor missions, raising its total funding to ₹20,193 crore.

The release frames a longer vision: an operational Bharatiya Antariksh Station by 2035 and an Indian crewed lunar mission by 2040.
