Where this paper and its answers come from

SSC does not publish CGL question papers or a public answer key. From 2025 the candidate response sheet prints every question and option as a picture, so the text here is transcribed from those pictures for this shift and checked against them independently; where the layout carries meaning, the picture is shown as well. Each answer is the key SSC colour-marked on that sheet. SSC released a tentative key for challenge and later its final one, both only to candidates behind a login, and the sheet does not say which of the two it carries. Why the others are wrong

Chile — Chile lies between the Andes and the Pacific and has no part of the Amazon basin, so no Amazon water rises there.

Colombia — Colombia holds part of the Amazon basin, and the main river passes its southern tip at Leticia, but the Amazon's source lies upstream in Peru.

Ecuador — Ecuador feeds the Amazon only through tributaries such as the Napo. The main river rises in Peru, and the analogy asks for the source.

Concept

A geography analogy is a word analogy with a fact inside it. Name the relation in the given pair first, then find the option that stands in the same relation to the third term.

Tibet is a region, not a country, and the Mekong's headwaters lie on the Tibetan Plateau. So read the pair as river : where it rises. All four options are Andean countries, and only the source fact separates them: the Amazon rises in the Peruvian Andes.

The Amazon's main stream also passes Colombia at Leticia, so a loose 'flows through' reading would not single out one option. The source reading picks Peru and nothing else.
