Correct — B. Two rules run at once.
Rule 1: the mark standing outside the shape moves inside it in the next frame, and a fresh mark appears outside. Outside runs A, star, B, infinity, then C. Inside runs hash, A, star, B, then infinity.
Rule 2: the whole figure turns 45° clockwise each frame. Read the turn off the stalk, the short line with a crossbar sticking out of one edge. It points down, then down-left, then left, then up-left, so in frame 5 it points straight up.
Four steps of 45° make a half-turn, so the house that pointed up in frame 1 now points down. Option (b) shows that point-down shape with the stalk on top, infinity inside and C outside.
Why the others are wrong
- (a)Option (a) has the shape and the turn right but the two marks swapped, with C inside and the infinity sign outside. The rule moves the previous frame's outside mark in, and frame 4 carried infinity outside.

For the symbols, read the two slots as a queue. Whatever stands outside a frame is inside the next one, so the mark outside frame 4 tells you what must be inside frame 5.
Options (c) and (d) place the marks correctly and fail on the turn, while option (a) turns the figure correctly and swaps the marks. Neither half of the rule can be skipped.
