Why

Correct — B. The ICC allotted the 2031 Men's Cricket World Cup to India and Bangladesh when it named hosts for its 2024-2031 men's event cycle.

The cycle fixes every tournament in advance rather than putting each one out to bid later, which is how a 2024 paper can already ask about 2031. Option (b).

The two have shared a World Cup before: the 2011 edition was co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, and India won it.

Why the others are wrong

Sri Lanka and Pakistan — Pakistan enters this cycle as host of the 2025 Champions Trophy, not of a World Cup, and Sri Lanka is not paired with it for 2031.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh — Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have each co-hosted before, in 1996 and 2011 respectively, which makes the pair look plausible. The 2031 allotment is not theirs.

India, Sri Lanka — India and Sri Lanka is the pair named for the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup. Right pair, wrong tournament and wrong year.

Concept

The ICC no longer awards events one at a time. It allots a whole cycle in advance, and the 2024-2031 men's cycle names a host for every year's tournament.

Within that cycle the fifty-over Cricket World Cup falls in 2027 and 2031, the T20 World Cup in the even years, and the Champions Trophy returns in 2025 and 2029.

Pakistan's 2025 hosting is the Champions Trophy, not a World Cup.
