Correct — B. MN is the vertical line at the right of the string, so the whole strip flips left to right.
Rule: the order reverses — G r 3 d 7 e becomes e 7 d 3 r G — and each character is flipped about its own vertical axis.
Option (b) satisfies both tests. Its e opens towards its lower left, its 7's tail leans down to the right, and its d has become a b-shape with the stem on the left.
Its 3 bulges leftwards, its r's stem sits to the right of its shoulder, and its G opens to the left.
Why the others are wrong
- (a)The e is not flipped — its opening still faces the lower right, as in the printed string. Its d has also become a p, which is the mirrored b turned upside-down.
- (c)The d and the 7 have kept their printed order and their printed shapes. A true mirror puts the 7 before the d and flips both.
- (d)The 3 and the r are unflipped: the 3 still bulges to the right and the r's stem still stands to the left of its shoulder.
Concept
A vertical mirror does exactly two things to a line of text. It reverses the order of the characters, and it flips each character about its own vertical axis. Nothing moves up or down.
Work it as a checklist, not as a picture. Write the string backwards first, then pick out the characters with the loudest left-right asymmetry — here r, d, 3 and G — and test only those in each option.
The first mismatch ends the question, so you never have to verify all six characters of a wrong option.
Case survives a mirror. An upper-case G stays upper-case, and a lower-case d does not turn into a capital B — it becomes a mirrored d that merely resembles a b.
