Why the others are wrong
- (a)National emergency — National emergency is Article 352, in Part XVIII on emergency provisions — several hundred articles away from Part V.
- (b)Amendment of the Constitution — Amendment of the Constitution is a single article, Article 368, in Part XX. It is not part of the Union's own machinery.
- (c)Finance Commission of India — The Finance Commission is Article 280, in Part XII on finance, property, contracts and suits. Part V does not deal with Centre-state revenue sharing.

Part V covers the Union and is organised into chapters, each a block of articles.
Chapter I, Articles 52 to 78, is the Executive: the President, the Vice-President, the Council of Ministers and the Attorney General.
Chapter II, Articles 79 to 122, is Parliament. Chapter III is a single article, 123, on the President's ordinance power. Chapter IV, Articles 124 to 147, is the Union Judiciary, and Chapter V, Articles 148 to 151, the Comptroller and Auditor General.
The wording of the stem is the shortcut. When SSC gives you a range of articles and a Part number, the answer is the heading that Part or chapter actually carries — so learning the headings pays better than learning individual articles.

- Confusing Part V with Part VI. The same chapter structure repeats for the states, starting at Article 152.
