Why

Correct — C. Jeswin Aldrin set the Indian men's long jump national record of 8.42 m at the Indian Open Jumps Competition in Bellary on 2 March 2023.

The wind reading was inside the legal limit of 2.0 m/s, so the jump counted as a record. It displaced Murali Sreeshankar's 8.36 m from the 2022 Federation Cup, which is why option (c) is the name this question wants.

Concept

A horizontal-jump mark counts as a record only when the tailwind is 2.0 m/s or less. Beyond that the jump is recorded as wind-assisted and cannot be ratified, a rule that has cost Indian jumpers records before.

Aldrin's 8.42 m at Bellary in March 2023 cleared that test. The Athletics Federation of India is the body that ratifies domestic marks.
