Why the others are wrong
- (b)3.29% — 3.29% is the same digits reordered. It would need a bonus total near 24.1 lakh, but the Bonus column adds to 21.50 lakh.
- (c)2.39% — 2.39% would need a bonus total near 17.5 lakh. The five bonus entries add to 21.50, four of them above 4 lakh on their own.
- (d)3.92% — 3.92% needs about 28.7 lakh of bonus. That is more than five times the largest single-year bonus in the table, 4.90 lakh, so it is unreachable.
Concept
All four options are the digits 2, 9 and 3 rearranged, so the method earns nothing and the arithmetic earns everything. Add both columns carefully once rather than fast twice.
"During the given period" means all five years, 2005 to 2009 — five entries from each column, not the latest year and not an average year.
The phrase "A is what percentage of B" always puts B on the bottom: here fuel and transport is the base and bonus is the part.
