The Padma awards run in three descending tiers — Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri — and are announced each year around Republic Day. Option (d) names the tier he was given.

Concept

The Padma awards are announced each year around Republic Day in three tiers — Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri — across fields such as art, public affairs, science, medicine, literature and education, social work, and sport.

The Bharat Ratna stands outside and above the three as the highest civilian honour.

Nominations are open to the public, and the awards are conferred by the President at ceremonies held later in the year.

The option list mixes an institution with three award names. Spotting that the Sangeet Natak Akademi is a body, and that its award carries the word Award, removes one option before the year is even considered.
