Why

Correct — D. The sentence prints necesity. The word is spelt necessity — a single c, a double s.

The other three survive a dictionary check exactly as printed: Educational, technology, excellent. One option fails that check, and a spelling item asks nothing else of you.

The shape comes from Latin necesse, which already has one c and two s's. The old classroom mnemonic fixes it: a shirt has one Collar and two Sleeves.

Why the others are wrong

(a)
Educational — Educational is correct as printed — educate plus -ional, with the t kept and nothing doubled. It is the longest word on the list, which is exactly why it draws a wrong click.
(b)
technology — technology is correct, with the chn cluster inherited from Greek tekhne and the standard -logy ending. Nothing in it is dropped or doubled by mistake.
(c)
excellent — excellent is correct: double l, and the ending is -ent, not -ant. The double letters make it look risky, but no letter is missing.

Concept

A spelling item is decided by one comparison repeated four times: read each option against its dictionary form and stop at the first mismatch. The sentence around the words contributes nothing.

Doubling is the fault here, and it is worth drilling as a family. necessity doubles the s and keeps the c single. occurrence doubles both the c and the r. accommodation doubles both the c and the m. A candidate who has drilled the doubling families reads these off in seconds.

The sentence is grammatical as printed — 'Educational technology has become a necesity if one desires excellent output' — so there is no meaning error to find. Look at the letters, not at the sense.

Common traps

Assuming the longest word is the misspelt one. Educational is the longest here and is spelt correctly.
Doubling the c instead of the s and writing neccesity, which is still wrong.
Skimming the sentence for sense. A spelling item is settled letter by letter.
